Story and Details

Of course this is an advertisement for the legendary, no-frills Explorer. But it's so much more... It's really an ad for ALL Rolex watches. The Explorer may be highlighted and mentioned, but the famous headline really speaks to the fact that a Rolex watch is robust and won't fail you. Besides the beauty of the imagery, that deeper message is the true beauty. This is also the earliest full-page ad I've found featuring the Ref. 1016.

Frame Dimensions & Design

Approx. 12 7/8" x 16 1/4" (32cm x 41cm)

Advertisement page is ideally cropped by a custom-measured, hand-cut 4-ply border in a shade of white that compliments tones of paper. Frame is custom-sized and made of solid wood with black painted finish.

Condition

Frame is new, and ready to hang. Pre-owned original magazine advertisement. Image shown is exactly the ad that you'll be receiving.

Framing

Framing is handcrafted in Chicago, IL, using acid-free materials for art preservation. The UV-protected, anti-reflective glass ensures optimal viewing. Frames are solid wood featuring a wire for easy hanging and felt pads for wall protection.

    Love it!

    I bought this as a birthday gift for my nephew who is a watch enthusiast. Along with the well packaged ad I received a personal note from Nick, which i thought was thoughtful. Needless to say, my nephew loved his gift, enjoyed reading the personal note and even kept it. Thank you for making this ad more than just that! Keep up the good work Nick!

    Another classic ad with perfect framing.

    I’ve purchased three classic Rolex ads from Nick. All in beautiful condition and beautifully framed. They are the perfect compliment to my Rolex obsession and I love having them displayed in my house.

    Vintage Rolex Advertisement

    I was very pleased with my purchase of Vintage Ads from Nick. I had an issue with my local post office returning to sender for no reason, which was no fault of Ad Patina’s whatsoever. However Nick politely went above and beyond to get the package back to him, and resent as FedEx in a quick manner! Will look forward to doing business with him again.

    Will Definitely Buy More in the Future

    I purchased the GMT Chuck Yeager advertisement, along with an AP Offshore Diver advertisement, and both were even better than I expected. They came in packed very safe and secure, and the handwritten note accompanying them was the cherry on top of the buying experience. I'll certainly be buying more in the future!
