IWC may have started out with pocket watches and sophisticated dress watches in their early days, but the brand has evolved from its roots and is now synonymous with bold, tough pieces that are made to be truly worn. While other watch brands in the 1990s began putting a luxury touch on their pieces, IWC doubled down on more utilitarian pieces like the Fliegerchronograph and Mark XII. These bolder designs were also translated into a series of ad campaigns known for their machismo. While statements in these ads definitely catch you off guard, these campaigns did play a role in influencing IWC’s modern brand identity.
